The Somerset Event Directory was started in 2008 by Louise Bale-Young, who after planning her own wedding found limited information on the internet for businesses offering wedding services in Somerset.
"We didn't have the luxury of loads of money to spend on our wedding so I had to research quite a bit for what we liked, within what we could afford. I found myself between jobs and I've always wanted to run my own business. I wanted to be able to cater for people planning an event no matter what the budget and to include people who run a small business as well as the big companies, to give people the most choice for their money. Having lived in Somerset for almost 20 years I know what a beautiful county this is and it seemed a great opportunity to celebrate what services the county has to offer and how it's a great place to get married."
